Shaw Plans at Least One 2011 NKNPSE Win
DJ Shaw will again drive the Julio and Rita Miglioli-owned No. 60 in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East competition this season. The New Hampshire driver has modest goals for the year ahead.

“The goals for last year changed as we went along,” said Shaw. “We started out wanting to finish in the top ten and then we changed that goal to a top five finish – and we almost got there. We’ve come a long way and this year, I would like to win at least one race and get a solid top-ten finish in the points. Maybe our goals will change during the season again. I just don’t want to get overconfident and make mistakes. We want to be competitive and finish where we run this year. If we can do that, the points will take care of themselves.”

In his second season, Shaw will return to many of the tracks that he had the opportunity to race on in 2010. There are also a number of new venues on the schedule that none of the series drivers have raced at before. Bowman Gray (NC) Stadium, Richmond (VA) International Raceway, Langley (VA) Speedway and Columbus (OH) Motor Speedway are all additions this year to the schedule.

Fairgrounds Speedway Wins Battle, but War is On-Going
10:38PM CT: Although the bill to demolish Fairgrounds Speedway-Nashville has yet to be voted upon, an amendment to that bill, which would render the speedway closed immediately, was defeated overwhelmingly. A second amendment is being discussed now, which would allow The Fair Board to host racing at the speedway until a redevelopment could take place, if The Fair Board choses to do so. This bill, according to its crafters, puts the speedway back on level ground with the rest of the property, as the upcoming bill calls for immediate demolition of the speedway only.
